• Identifying faults and repairing computer equipment
• Installing customers’ software and providing desk side support
• Provide a high level of customer care and the ability to fit into a wide range of customer sites
• Completing all paperwork accurately and on time. Writing ad-hoc reports when required
• Taking part in the “out of hours” standby rota
• Liaising with senior engineers and management. As well as both internal and external help desks

• Full driving licence
• Proven experience and knowledge of sub assembly repairs of PCs, laptops and printers
• Experience of PC network infrastructure, configuration and set up
• Knowledge of small server installations, configuration and set up
• Experience of software rebuilds in a wide variety of applications
• Excellent attention to detail and good communication skills
• Demonstrable customer facing skills
• Accommodating of carrying out 24/7 standby cover on rota basis
• Must be able to work on own initiative
• An understanding of RAID systems and the implications of each during the service procedure
• Desirable skills include experience of network infrastructure including various switches, routers and bridges as well as experience of large server installations

Special Conditions: The successful candidate must show a demonstrable capacity to undertake the training and pass the certification for Network Appliance, Authorised Service Engineer level 3
